Turn one keyword into hundreds of SEO keyword ideas

This SEO keyword generator expands a single seed term into hundreds of related keywords, long-tail variations, questions and comparisons. Every idea comes with search volume, search intent, SEO difficulty and paid search data.

How to generate keyword ideas in 3 steps

Go from one seed term to a filtered, prioritised keyword list.

  1. Enter your keyword

Start with up to three seed keywords and the generator expands each one into related terms, questions and long-tail variations.

  2. Select your language and location

Choose a language and location so the generated keyword ideas and their data reflect the market you are actually targeting.

  3. Compare, filter and shortlist

Sort the generated list by search volume, intent and SEO difficulty, then keep the keyword ideas worth building content around.

  • Group your ideas by search intent

Sort generated keywords by what the searcher actually wants, so informational and commercial terms end up on the right kind of page.

  • Spot the topics with real demand

Compare monthly search volume across every generated idea and find the topics worth building a whole content cluster around.

  • Find the long-tail terms you can win

Compare SEO difficulty across hundreds of ideas and shortlist the keywords your site can realistically rank for today.

Keyword Ideas FAQ

A keyword generator is a tool that takes one seed keyword and expands it into a large list of related search terms you could target. It works by pulling from sources like Google autocomplete, related searches and question data, then attaching metrics such as monthly search volume and ranking difficulty to each result. The point is coverage: instead of brainstorming terms one at a time, you start from a list of every realistic variation and cut down from there.

A single seed keyword usually generates hundreds of ideas, though the exact number depends on how broad the topic is. Broad commercial topics produce the longest lists because there are more ways to phrase the search; narrow or technical terms produce fewer results, but those tend to be more specific and easier to rank for. You can expand up to three seed keywords at once, which is usually enough to map a whole content topic in one pass.

Long-tail keywords are longer, more specific search phrases that get fewer searches individually but face far less competition than head terms. You find them by expanding a broad seed keyword and looking at the variations that carry an extra qualifier, such as a preposition, a question word, a location or a comparison. The Prepositions and Questions tabs surface these directly, and filtering by low SEO difficulty leaves the ones a newer site can realistically rank for.

Keyword suggestions are the phrases Google autocomplete predicts as someone types your seed keyword, while related keywords are the other terms people search around the same topic. Suggestions tell you how a search is worded; related keywords tell you what else that audience cares about. Both start from the same seed, and most topics need content that covers both.

Expand your keyword and filter for question-form variations, the ones starting with what, why, how, when, where or can. These map closely to Google's People Also Ask boxes and to the prompts people type into AI assistants, which makes them the highest-value ideas for featured snippets and AI Overviews. The Questions tab does this expansion for you and ranks the results by search volume.

Start with the ideas that combine real search demand, low SEO difficulty and an intent that matches the page you plan to build. A term with 200 monthly searches you can rank for beats one with 20,000 you cannot, especially when the smaller term signals someone closer to buying. Filtering by First page potential shortcuts this by showing only the keywords your site has a realistic chance at today.

Keyword Ideas is built for expansion: it takes one term and generates the widest possible list of options. The other keyword tools each do a different job. AI Keyword Overview analyses a single keyword in depth, Keyword Bulk Analysis pulls metrics for a list you already have, Keyword Lists organises the terms you have chosen, AI Prompt Ideas covers the prompts people type into AI assistants, and Keyword Coverage shows which keywords your site already ranks for. Most workflows start here and move on to one of the others.
